General information
If you would like me to review your book on my blog, I am currently accepting Adult, Young Adult, or Middle Grade books for review. You can send me an email at rebeccabookreview17@gmail.com with the details of your request. Please include: Title, Author, Publisher, Publication Date, Genere, Amazon link (if possible), and your name.
I will accept print ARCs and finished copies. If the book is a part of a series, please include that information in the email request above. I may need you to supply me with the previous books in the series for me to present a well-rounded and accurate review.
I am NOT currently accepting e-books, self-published books, or interactive media books at this time. However, I will make an exception for those books that are already on my TBR.
Genres/Accepting Books
I like a wide variety of genres and to be honest I’m also trying to branch out a but so I’m open to accepting books across many genres. Below are some genres that I would be particularly interested in receiving review requests for:
- Fantasy
- Historical fiction and select historical non-fiction
- Fairy tale/myth retellings
- Paranormal
- Mystery
- Gothic horror/romance
- Non-fiction
- Memoirs/modern biographies
- Contemporary
- Short story compilations
I will give every review request consideration based on the merits for that book alone rather than its genre. However, I would prefer not to receive requests for the following genres, as these genres hold little interest for me and I will most likely not accept:
- Extremely political or “hot button” topics
- Poetry
- Overtly preachy religious fiction (Christian values are fine)
Once I have accepted your review request, I will send you the address where the book can be shipped.
Reviews
If I accept a book for review, that does not guarantee a review.
I will make every effort to read and review in a timely fashion and with regard to release dates, but I cannot guarantee this. I prefer to receive a book 1-2 months prior to when you would like the review posted.
I currently write a review for every book I finish, though I can not promise that this will continue forever. All reviews are also posted on Goodreads, though they are very brief (only one to two sentences) with a link to the review on my blog. My reviews are written in a relaxed manner reminiscent of a conversation among friends. They are not meant to be objective literary critiques.
I write fair and honest reviews based on my views of the book, but this does not mean I will always write positive reviews. My reviews are for my opinion of the book, and if I don’t enjoy a certain book then my review will reflect that. With that said, I will explain why the book in question did not work for me personally and I try to identify an audience the book may appeal to more. I do NOT write nasty or snarky commentary about the author.
Thought it is extremely rare for me, there is a chance that I may not finish the book you submitted to me for review. If I do not finish a book I will write an explanation for DNF-ing. These explanations are different from standard reviews and will state that I did not finish the book, what page I read up to, why I did not finish, and if I plan on ever picking up the book again.
Review Structure
All reviews will include the following:
- Cover art
- Book stats: Title, author, genre, publisher, release date, page count, series status
- Where I received the book
- Star rating
- My review: What I liked and didn’t
- Link to author website
- Link to Amazon page for the book
Star Rating scale defined

I will not adjust my ratings to meet the author’s personal rating scale. My ratings are based solely on my scale and are defined above. Also for reviews that I post on various external sites, if that site does not use 1/2 (or 1/4) star ratings, a 3.5 on my site gets rounded down to a 3 on an external site. This is not to be harsh or to make it seem as I don’t enjoy the book, but this is just how I’ve always structured my external site review postings. I always will include either a link to the original post or the full text of the “My Review” section to give context to the score.

Author Guest Posts and Interviews
* Please Note: At this time, I will only accept guest posts from authors.
I am happy to host authors on my blog! At this time, I will only be hosting authors whose books I have either read or added to my To Be Read list. I am not currently accepting “form” guest posts where the content has already been posted on other blogs.
If you would like to be featured on Rebeccabookreview, please email me with the following information:
- Your name and the name of your book
- A brief description of your book (or link to Amazon/Goodreads)
- Do you prefer a guest post or an interview? Will you provide a topic/questions or would you like me to?*
- The month/date you would like to be featured
- If you would like to include a giveaway
*Please note: If I have not read your book yet and you are coming up with your own guest post topic, then I prefer, but do not require, you send me a copy of your book.
If I have not read your book yet and I am coming up with the guest post topic or interview questions, then I require a copy of your book and 1-2 months advance time to read your book. If this is not possible for some reason but your book is on my TBR, then we can try to work something out.
Hi Bill, you can find my contact information on my review policy page with instructions on how to send me a request. Thank you.
