2021 Monthly Status Update: November

november-top-10

November was such a busy month. Work has been steadily ramping up for me over the last month and I’m trying to really push through before the holidays and get everything done. Thanksgiving was a great celebration this year and we had so much to be thankful for. I didn’t get to read a ton this month but I have been enjoying the books I’ve been reading. Here is my reading progress for November:

Monthly Stats:
# books read this month: 7
# pages read this month: 2,397
# books read year-to-date: 104
# pages read year-to-date: 35,267

Other Posts this month:

Nothing to report from this past month!

Favorite books from this month:

I re-read Wicked Deeds on a Winter’s Night by Kresley Cole and still loved it. Also have been reading some of Nikki Sloane’s backlog and it is just fantastic.

Next Month TBR List:

I do have one schedule read for next month – its part of the Harlequin Dreamer series blog tour! Stay tuned for more details.

Other than that I am hoping to catch up on books for my Fated Mates podcast that I follow. They’re already into Season 4 and I am still reading along with Season 2 so I have a lot of catching up to do!

I always love doing my year end summary posts, looking forward to those later this month. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Happy reading!

And so we begin the new year! 2020 definitely had it’s ups and downs but I’m excited to see the start of 2021 and we have lots of plans for this year! So far we’ve been busy meeting goals and working on projects, but I’ve had time here and there for reading. Here is my progress for reading in January:

Things will be very busy over the next few months as I try to keep up with busy season. I’m hoping to still find time to read at least a few books a month but we’ll see how the next few months go! In addition to my scheduled reads each month I’m also trying to read at least one book from my backlog and from my personal library. I’m looking forward to Valentine’s Day in a couple weeks and hopefully getting some Valentine’s Day chocolates. It’s chilly where I live and it’s snowing today so we’re hunkering down and trying to keep warm. Happy reading everyone!

2020 Monthly Status Update: November

November was again very busy work wise but I think the lack of a commute is really helping me have extra time for reading each day. Plus with a couple days off for the holiday weekend I was able to get a lot of books read in November! So here are some reading highlights from November for me:

Monthly Stats:
# books read this month: 12
# pages read this month: 4,264
# books read year-to-date: 90
# pages read year-to-date: 29,994

Favorite books from this month:

One by One by Ruth Ware – 5.0 stars
One Night at the Lake by Bethany Chase – 4.75 stars

Next Month TBR List:

  • Truth, Lies and Second Dates by MaryJanice Davidson
  • The Princess and the Rogue by Kate Bateman

I have a short list for December so I’m going to be spending some of my other reading time (1) catching up more on backlogs from prior year’s lists and (2) reading some things just for fun! I think one of my favorite things I’ve been able to do this year is read more from my personal library, it feels like it’s been years since I’ve picked what I wanted to read on a whim. December will be a busy work month but if everything goes according to plan I’ll have some time off at the end of the month and can hopefully read a lot then. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, and hope everyone is able to do something fun to get into the festive Christmas spirit. Our Christmas this year, I’m sure like many others, will look very different this year. No large celebrations and I will be missing my family in a big way this year. But whether we’re together or apart, the love and joy that our family feels is still there. Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe. Happy reading everyone!

2019 Monthly Status Update: August

update

August was another strong month for me. Back in late June I discovered the Fated Mates podcast, I am now deeply addicted to both the podcast and the Kresley Cole’s Immortals After Dark series. I’m trying to stick with my scheduled reading also as much as I can but at the same time I just want to read what I want! Everyone once in a while I start to chage against the schedule and I’m feeling like now is really that time. Luckily I only have 2 scheduled reads so far for September so there’s lots of room for reading whatever I want. So anyways, here are some highlights from August for me:

Monthly Stats:
# books read this month: 11
# pages read this month: 4,158
# books read year-to-date: 64
# pages read year-to-date: 22,239

Favorite Books I Read this Month:

I’ve been devouring Kresley Cole’s Immortals After Dark series and have loved almost all those books so far (I’m reading #15 now). Other than that I also really enjoyed:

51SWKLzVjxL

The Book Charmer by Karen Hawkins – 4.5 stars

Other Posts this month:

Lots of ARC August 2019 posts this past month, that was it for other posts!

Next Month TBR List:

Not many on the scheduled TBR list for next month, like I mentioned:

-29 Seconds by T.M. Logan
-Immortal Born by Lynsay Sands

Luckily this leaves lots of room for both more of Kresley Cole’s books and also catching up on my backlog reading from books I missed. September starts to get much more hectic for me at work but it’s also my birthday month (woot!) so I’ll be trying to block off some reading time for myself since that’s what I like to do! Looking forward to some crisp fall weather coming up and one of my favorite times of the year. Happy reading everyone!

2019 Monthly Status Update: July

outdated_technology_update_required_thinkstock_871052724-100749659-largeJuly was HUGE! I got so much reading done. I had a vacation at the end of the month but had no internet so I’m just catching up on my blog posts today. Another reason I got so much reading done is that last month I discovered the Fated Mates podcast, which I’m now addicted to and am working my way through Kresley Cole’s Immortals After Dark series. I’m only allowing myself to read one though for every ARC I get read, so it’s encouraging me to get my reading done faster! So anyways, here are some highlights from July for me:

Monthly Stats:
# books read this month: 16
# pages read this month: 5,923
# books read year-to-date: 53
# pages read year-to-date: 18,081

Favorite Books I Read this Month:

I’ve been devouring Kresley Cole’s Immortals After Dark series and have loved almost all those books so far (on #11 now). Other than that I also enjoyed Helen Hoang’s The Kiss Quotient (4.5 stars), which I read on vacation, and Good Girl, Bad Girl by Michael Robotham (4.5 stars).

2019 Monthly Status Update: June

update-clipart-update-clipart-7caknz8ni

June was a bit of a slow month for me. Work really took off again and also trying to balance that with still enjoying a few days off doing fun things – there just isn’t enough time in the day! Thank goodness I was at a reading retreat at the beginning of June since that was when I got over 1/2 my books for the month read. I’m a bit behind with review posts too but I’m working on catching up. June is also when I discovered the Fated Mates podcast, which I’m now addicted to and am working my way through Kresley Cole’s Immortals After Dark series. So anyways, here are some highlights from June for me:

Monthly Stats:
# books read this month: 6

# pages read year-to-date: 12,158
